Discover the joy of partner dancing at Miss Emma’s Dancing! Our friendly dance community is based in the villages of Grittleton and Hullavington, near Chippenham in rural Wiltshire, and welcomes adults of all experience levels, from complete beginners to experienced hobbyists. We offer encouraging, informative dance classes and events in Ballroom & Latin-American, Vintage dance styles from the 1920s–1950s, and Tropical dances including Kizomba and Bachata.

We specialise in partner dancing, teaching skills, not just steps—ideal if you’re curious about how and why we move. With safe guidance through core principles and techniques, you’ll develop observation and awareness skills as you learn to move with a partner and listen with your body, while developing musicality by connecting with the music’s rhythms and dance history. These practical skills support clear movement, thoughtful improvisation, adaptability, and polite floorcraft on the social dance floor.

Anyone can learn to dance. You don’t need talent, just patience and time. Come along and join us - no partner required, and we’d love to meet you!

Why learn with us?

Joining a class is easy!

Our dance classes run throughout the year, and complete beginners are always welcome. There’s no need to bring a partner; it’s all pay-as-you-go, and you don’t have to pre-book - just come along!

We are proud to be rural, local, and community-focused

We believe that everyone - regardless of location - should have the opportunity to learn and enjoy dance. With us, learning to dance is about bringing people together and sharing the joy that music and partner dancing can bring to your life.

We’re not just an exercise class

We help you develop a deeper understanding of movement, the body, and music - skills that enrich both individual and shared movement experiences.

Our classes are technique-based… we teach skills, not just steps!

Our classes are ideal for those interested in the how and why of movement. We carefully select manageable sub-skills that build towards complete skills, allowing time to practise, reinforce learning and build confidence.

We encourage progressive learning and provide a supportive learning environment

Learning to dance is a gradual process, and we enjoy helping our students discover and develop their dancing skills. Our classes are creative and encouraging, with plenty of time to practise and socialise, making learning enjoyable.
